Getting to Know Nepal

From this project I learned a lot about Nepal's rich history and culture. They are a country full of tradition and a unique form of civilization. From their architecture, to their Himalayan terrain, Nepal holds a very special gathering of people. My partner Suresh and I then discussed the proverb "Char Jat Chhatis Barna ko Fulbari" which translates into "a patch motlayed with multi colored tints". This proverb represents Nepal because of the many diverse ethnic and religious groups in the country. Like Hawaii, Nepal is a mixing pot, and contains many different "tints" due to its geographical location between India and China. Thus, this leads into the symbol of the light of Asia, Lord Buddha. This represents one of the main, but many religious beliefs in Nepal. Nepal was a sacred place for Buddha being that it was his origins and birthplace.
